Gholamhossein Sadri Afshar was honored at House of Books

The sixth program of ‘Asre Ketab’ will be held on Wednesday January 18 at the House of Books to honor Gholam Hussein Sadri Afshar, translator and lexicographer in the presence of intellectuals.

According to Lisna, honoring ceremony of Gholamhossein Sadri Afshar is one of the series of meetings held by ‘Asre Ketab’ at the House of Books. “Scientific Biography of Islamic Scholars” will be also unveiled at the meeting.

Gholam Hussein Sadri Afshar a famous translator and lexicographer, was born in 1934 in Orumieh. He tried various occupations after secondary education and finally went toward the field of culture.

Sadri Afshar’s artworks were first published in Tabriz in 1948. He started lexicography in 1966 at the Culture Foundation of Iran by taking notes of the book “Makhzan al advie”  and he is still doing; he has also edited, translated and written several books by means of others.

The books: “The Culture of the Translator”, “Culture of the Famous”, “Technical Glossary”, “Persian Contemporary Culture”, “Little Persian Contemporary Culture”, “Two Volume Persian culture”, “Three volume Persian Encyclopedia”, are among published works of Gholamhossein Sadri Afshar.

 

The enthusiasts can attend the meeting at 15; address: No. 1080, minus one story, between Felestin and south Mozaffar Borthers, Enghelab Avenue.
