Ahmad Masjed Jamei, a member of the Islamic City Council of Tehran resigned from his position by sending a letter to the president of the Islamic City Council of Tehran.
Masjed Jamei is one step closer to become the president of National Library of Iran

 According to Lisna, Ahmad Masjed Jamei has been suggested as the first choice for the presidency of National Library and Archives of Iran by the President Rouhani.  Sending a letter to the president of the Islamic City Council of Tehran, Masjed Jamei resigned from his position.

The content of Masjed Jamei’s resignation letter is as follows:

Dear Mr. Mehdi Chamran

The president of the Islamic City Council of Tehran

Greetings

I am writing to formally notify you of my resignation from my position at the Islamic City Council of Tehran according to Article 28 note 2 of Council Acts. I was recently offered a new opportunity by President Rouhani to become the president of National Library and Archive of Iran. I appreciate all my dear colleagues at the third and fourth periods for their help and companionship.

I ask God, the Glorious, increasing promotion of this democratic institution.
